What are the chakras?
Chakras are a Sanskrit word that means ‘wheel of life’. It’s a 5000 year old teaching that originated in India. According to this teaching, we have hundreds of energy points in our bodies, but there are 7 main points that are located along the spine. These main energy points are called the chakras. Chakras are seen as energy spirals that rotate.
Each of the main 7 chakras or energy centers has it’s own character and is associated to different aspects of our being. The chakra system is the center for energy distribution for every aspect of our life. Energy failure and clocks will often occur due to disturbances in the body, soul or thoughts. If a chakra is blocked, it will create a disturbance or imbalance in the area of the body where this energy is received. This will effect the whole body because the whole body is connected through energy lines.
Each chakra is associated to a color that reflect the color of light in the spectrum it’s connected to.
